Crafting from now until oblivion!

So sorry I’ve been totally absent for so long - May was crazy! I had a con almost every weekend - it was insane! First, the cons. Shinbokucon was pretty fun and definitely unique! They had some programming on Thursday, which was pretty rad. They even had a free Japanese/Chinese/French fusion buffet. I really don’t know what else to call it lol. There was sushi and pork buns and fondu - it was great! It was my first time trying fondu and I gotta say, I totally see the appeal! The rest of the con was rather small, but I met some great people and had a good time with them. I’ll probably go back next year but as an artist instead of a vendor.Midwest Media Expo was our next con. It was put on by the same people who throw the biggest Michigan anime con (Youmacon) and I gotta say, it lived up to the hype! I was worried with it being a first year con and all, but there were a ton of people and they were all really cool. I’m totally on board for next year. I might even try to go vendor by then!Anime Park is still rather tiny, but it holds a special place in my heart. They were my third ever convention, so I am willing to give them a little more leeway than other cons. It wasn’t really needed this year, though - I bought 2 vendor spaces and was not disappointed with that choice! We got a spot right by the entry way as well, so we got a ton of foot traffic. As always, stoked for next year! The Electronica Expo was the biggest let down of May… I thought that this would be the place to break out from primarily doing perlers and to showcase some of our great new merch, but it was pretty much a bust. It was only $1 to get in, but no one really showed up. I made all of my sales from fellow vendors and friends. We still made money, though, so who knows? Maybe next year will be better.Animinneapolis was the big wild card of the month. It was our first time going to this particular con, but it was put on by the same person who runs Anime Midwest and Meta Con, which were great for us. It was SUPER far though and gas was expensive, but since I got my new car, it was better than it could have been. The staff was great, as always, and we made enough to consider driving the 12 hours back out there next year!We also have introduced a new product to our lines - cosplay ear cuffs! Let us know what you think by commenting on this latest deviation:Custom Leaf Fairy EarsThey are made from a thermal plastic and are totally adjustable and customizable. We can make them for any costume you want and to fit any size ears or match any color skin tone! Starting at just $25, we think it’s a screaming deal. So last month was so crazy that this month we purposely didn’t book any conventions. We all need time to recoup and work on projects that will improve our business model as a whole, as well as work on commissions. Our list for this month consists of:*A new (but simple) cosplay I want to get done for Anime Midwest. *A Zelda-themed wedding commission with at least 2 etched glasses and 12 table center pieces. *Updating the site as much as we possibly can*Working on some new sewing projects*Getting my sewing machine fixed and ready to embroider :o*Recreating all the awesome etched glass that sold last month*Ordering more business cards*Ordering a vinyl sign to make us look more professional at cons*Getting some of our new equipment figured out*Potentially spinning off the perlers into their own side-business and refocusing the brand name Lilly Inverse*A bunch of other secret projects and things I can’t remember :PSo yeah… Not really any time to relax this month, unfortuantely :C But hey - I’m still having fun working for myself and working with my chosen family, doing what I love, and making fellow fans happy! As always, I totally love and appreciate all of my fans who have made my dream of sustaining myself completely on convention income possible! Hope to see you all next month!Updated 2014 Con List(x) *January 3-5 – Anime-ZAP, Embassy Suites, East Peoria, IL - small, but I might go back because I love the people who run the con ;3(x) *March 22 – Animarathon, Bowling Green State Uniersity, Bowling Green, OH - Same as last year - I’d buy my table for next year now if I could!(x) April 4-6 – Shutocon, Lansing Center & Radisson, Lansing, MI - Was GREAT! Pinkie Pie Head

Treat Yourself to a Pinkie Pie perler pixel art!

My perler MLP pixel art pony hearts went over so well that I’ve decided to make a set of pony faces to go along with them! Pinkie Pie is the first in the set, measuring about 5 x 6 inches. She is perfect for a gift for a friend – give the gift of Laughter with Pinkie Pie, and be sure to look for the rest of the mane 6 and more iconic FiM characters!

Treat yourself to a Tiny Pikachu Perler!

Similar to my Big Pikachu Perler, this Tiny Pikachu perler is super cute, and totally pocket-sized! Based on the original Pokemon Yellow Pikachu sprite which follows your character around, I’ve added this little guy to my stock in honor of the new Pokemon X/Y.

Avengers Perler Set

I’ve been doing a lot of work with perler beads lately, and it’s totally fun! I decided to make chibi (tiny) versions of the Avengers from the new Marvel movie. They have been doing GREAT at all the conventions I sell at! This is a group shot of all the chibi Avengers together. They measure about 5 x 4 inches each and are totally adorable!

Holy Con Month, Batman!

by ~LillyInverse

Ok, so technically it was almost TWO months, but hey! I’ve been SUPER busy! So let’s start with the first con - Fandomfest. It was not good. I will not be returning. :devTharidra: and :devMetalArtisan: feel the same. The trip was great fun, though, thanks to those two! And I got to see Gillian Anderson and John Barrowman, which was kinda cool. I didn’t really meet them, but I got a couple pics of Gillian Anderson at her panel, so that was cool.

Go!Daiko Con was pretty great! Especially since it was close to my hometown - close enough to not need to rent a hotel room! Not paying extra in gas and hotel costs means that overhead was MUCH higher

NOTE: Thank you *BambooDog for the permission to use your design to make and sell these!

I’ve been doing a lot of work with perler beads lately, and it’s totally fun! I decided to make a version of the pony-hearts created by *BambooDog. It turned out HUGE – much bigger than expected! I think she came out great, and I had a blast doing it, so I’m planning to make perler heart ponies of the mane six from FiM (Friendship is Magic) plus a couple other characters that I like, such as Vinyl Scratch (aka DJ Pon-3) and Derpy Hooves.

She measures about 17 x 10 inches and is currently being held on My wall with just 3 thumb tacks, so she’s actually pretty light weight.

Courage

Courage Needs a Wheelchair

If you can’t see the video below, please click the gray box and it should work, or you can see it on youtube here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1PRcvT6UZso

There are just 2 weeks left to help Courage! PLEASE reblog! Liking doesn’t help, but if enough people reblog, we might be able to raise enough money to get him the wheelchair he so desperately needs. Thanks to everyone who’s reblogged, shared, and donated so far, every little bit helps! This isn’t like Kickstarter - no matter how much we raise, all the money goes to the cause, even if it’s unsuccessfully funded, so every little bit really does help!
